GTech - Academia and Technology Focus Group (ATFG) - πLearn
Academia and Technology Focus Group is a group of leaders from Group of Technology Companies (GTech). GTech ATFG is creating a framework to help students become Industry Ready. This framework is a long term vision to improve the ecosystem in Kerala, both for Industry, Startups and R&D. GTech ATFG is promoted by APJ Abdul Kalam Technological University Kerala for empowering the students and to make them industry-ready.

What is GTech?
Group of Technology Companies (GTech), a not for profit organization, is the Industry body of Information Technology (IT) and Business Process Management (BPM) organizations in Kerala. GTech works closely with the Government of Kerala to promote the accelerated growth of the IT industry in the state. Established in 2001, GTech provides the platform for domain and technology companies from across the world for enterprise and strategic alliances with Member Organizations.

GTech over the years has built a strong membership of more than 200 IT companies comprises Innovative Start-ups, Small & Medium size companies, large Home Grown companies and International Majors like Infosys, TCS, Tata Elxsi, Wipro, Cognizant, Ernst & Young, Allianz Technology, UST Global, IBS, Quest Global, NeST, Qburst, Envestnet and SunTec.

What is G Tech ATFG πLearn?
The vision of  G Tech ATFG is to build a strong framework for developing Kerala's human resources, pre-skill them for Industry, and create the next generation of startups. 

The foundation of any company are the people. The mission of G Tech ATFG is to accelerate learning and discovering the potential of every Student so that they become Industry Ready.

How does it work?
Students are allowed to onboard to a Discord platform where they get an opportunity to learn and up skill through practice. Students will be supported by Mentors and guided through structured and gamified activities.

What activities are provided?
πŸ‘‰Learn new technologies and gain skills by completing exercises and participating in learning groups.
πŸ‘‰Contribute to open source projects, and other communities, and gain practical experience in various areas such as coding, design, marketing, technical writing, QA, etc.
πŸ‘‰Complete projects, assignments and internships at participating organizations. Gain valuable industry experience and understand business processes.

What are the benefits of the program?
πŸ‘‰Pre-skill students by guiding them and motivating them through Karma points. 
πŸ‘‰By completing structured activities, Students gain Karma Points, Level up and improve their profile.
πŸ‘‰Completing the various activities develops core competencies early, rather than after joining a company.
πŸ‘‰Students level-up into developing innovative systems. Industry can use the resources available in Academia to conduct R&D, and lower the risks of product development.
